This role is tasked to develop, update, and maintain relevant and robust employment policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures; provide appropriate and sound consulting and advisory function to line leaders; and oversee management and execution of SMI’s legal defense actions.
Key responsibilities :
• Ensure relevant human resources policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures are developed, maintained, reviewed, and updated in accordance with applicable local and national legislations and regulatory instruments affecting labour and employment.
• Remain abreast of legal developments and regulatory changes, identify areas of business risks, and proactively advise on their management to ensure SMI’s ongoing compliance.
• Conduct due diligence of disciplinary proceedings and outcomes to ensure consistent application of established corporate guidelines within the framework of labour-related legislations.
• Oversee all processes involved in SMI’s legal defense actions and represent the company in matters before courts, government agencies, and relevant authorities.
Key requirements :
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a graduate of Bachelor of Laws
• At least 5 years experience in the application of contemporary HR procedures and practices with a significant amount of exposure to policy formulation / development, remuneration and benefits administration, workplace relations, organizational development, and change management functions in a complex corporate setting
• Solid understanding of the Philippine Labour Code and ancillary labour relations laws and ability to interpret them in alignment with corporate policies and procedures
• Highly familiar with complex industrial / workplace relations issues and approaches
• Excellent communication presentation, and interpersonal skills including interviewing, counselling, conflict management, negotiating, and report-writing
• High level of computer literacy with working knowledge of computerised human resource information systems / databases
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks
• Highly-developed planning, organization, analytical, coaching, and influencing skills
