GSMWI is one of the proud members of RD Group of companies. We are strategically located @ the Southern part of Mindanao, particularly in Siguil, Maasim, Sarangani Province. 25 kilometer run from the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, General Santos City. We are now into full scale commercial shipbuilding & ship repair. We are exceptionally capable of serving the needs of our county’s maritime industry. The expansion of shipyard services brings benefits to about 500 workers, thus opening up more employment opportunities among local residents as we continue improve our operation. GSMWI is home of two Floating Docks with combined capacity of 4,000 tons. The Shipyard occupies an area of approximately 190,000 square meters including foreshore areas, with vertical and horizontal developments now in their varying stages of completion. GSMWI further becomes the appropriate venue for both local & foreign investors making their products and services readily available to our shipyard premises in consonant with the company’s direction of a “One Stop Shop” establishment for marine industry. With full of reciprocity, the Local Government likewise is benefited with our venture. Local Government derives a fair share of real property and business taxes not only from GSMWI, but also from businessmen & workers as well. New Shipbuilding Facilities Project (Twin Slipways with combined capacity of 10,000 GRT) As Gensan Shipyard continues serving the industry with full of efficiency, we committed to go along with the industry growth by putting up a shipbuilding facility. Gensan Shipyard will be building new gigantic twin slipways with combined capacity of 10,000 GRT, proposed to be operational within the year. This is our contribution to the over-all efforts of the government to prime-up the economy in these times of crises and our response to the President’s campaign for more investments in the countryside and to create employment opportunities. Another objective is to support the RORO sea transport program of the government and medium-size vessel construction for export to ASEAN countries. The expansion is also in line with the objective of R.A. 9295 promoting the development of shipbuilding in the country. Said project is also inspired by the creation of BIMP-EAGA to accelerate economic development in the four countries’ “focus areas”. Also in consonance with the MaKiMa’s goal to increase the economic activity in the area to generate employment , improve living standards and developed human resource capabilities for Sarangani through an enabling environment of increased equity investments supervised by the Sarangans themselves.
