  • The VP/SVP of Product & Data is a leader within the department overseeing all activities of the product development and data acquisition.

    The VP of Product and Data is responsible for developing the data acquisition strategy and product roadmap, identifying relevant data sources, products, services and solutions that support the growth aspirations of the company across all business segments (Credit Bureau, Personal Information, Business Intelligence). The incumbent is tasked in ensuring product development projects are executed smoothly from end-to-end. On data acquisition front, he/she will be responsible for supporting the President & CEO in identifying and developing partnerships with data sources to build unique data assets for the company in line with its long term data acquisition strategy.

    Strategy and Planning

    Develop and drive a data & product roadmap that is aligned with the company’s short, medium and long-term growth aspirations.

    Identify potential data gaps &products through extensive customer and market research, benchmarking global best practices and gathering market intelligence from competitors.

    Strategize with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service on product positioning (inc. pricing and value proposition) as well as timing of product launches and campaigns.

    Develop and manage annual new product budget (inc. sales forecasts and estimated investments for new products due for launch within the financial year)and own department costs (i.e. internal headcount budgets).

    Data Acquisition

    Develop, expand and improve data coverage for the business beyond conventional sources of credit data.

    Formulate strategies and propositions to encourage data contributors to participate in the company’s data programs.

    Be resourceful in researching for new data source to expand the existing data scope.

    Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant data sources.

    Product Development

    Manage the team of product managers and the engagement with technical developers to ensure smooth end-to-end product development lifecycle management.

    Put in place best-practice product development lifecycle practices that bring products to market including:

    Conceptualization - Define the product concept

    Business case – Develop the business case for the new product

    Requirements definition – Ensure clearly defined product requirements & specifications

    Project implementation – Establish timelines and milestones

    Go-to-market plan – Identify the optimal marketing campaign, customer engagement, sales and distribution plan needed to support a successful product launch

    Identify and engage with potential product, technology and/or channel partners to accelerate product development and time-to-market.

    Product Management

    Work with Sales and Marketing to craft go-to-market strategies, i.e. develop market entry plans, sales plans, A&P programs and targets.

    Analyze performance of existing products.

    Work with team of product managers and customer service to undertake market research.

    Incorporate user and market findings to develop the product roadmap for product enhancements, upgrades and evolution on a continuous basis.

    Determine optimal product pricing by utilizing market research data, reviewing development and sales costs, and anticipating volume changes with re-pricing.

    Lead team of product managers to support Sales in efforts to engage clients, pitch and close the sale.

    People and Capability Development

    Manage the team by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.

    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in relevant conferences/ industry associations, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.


    Require significant collaboration with various departments, specifically Sales, Marketing, Data Analytics, Operations, IT and Finance.


    Minimum 5 years in product development/ management of credit bureau, risk management or related financial products.

    Proven track record of executing marketing campaigns, new product development projects and delivering business impact for the P&L.

    Strong ability in leading a team of product managers, organizing technical development teams and managing cross-functional projects.
