  • Role: Junior Associate Lawyer

    SUMMARY

    In this role you will work under the Legal Department to support the different subsidiaries and affiliates of the Group, by providing assistance in all facets of the operations of the legal department including litigation, corporate housekeeping and contract drafting/revision.

    MAIN TASKS

    1. Assist the legal department in carrying out corporate housekeeping duties such as preparation of minutes and notices of meetings, board resolutions, secretary’s certificates and complying with reportorial requirements with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

    2. Assist the legal department in the preparation, filing and processing of applications for amendments of articles of incorporation and by-laws with the SEC.

    3. Assist the legal department in the preparation, drafting and review of contracts and correspondences.

    4. Ensure all contracts, related correspondence and documentation are active, current, duly accounted for and retained/stored in accordance with company policies and standards.

    5. Assist the legal department in handling litigation matters, including the preparation and filing of pleadings in courts, quasi-judicial and regulatory agencies.

    6. Prepare summaries of factual findings, investigations, legal research, status reports and/or sequential and chronological events assigned by the legal department.

    7. Coordinate with the different business units and departments within the organization, affiliates, and other offices and assist the legal department in providing needed support.

    8. Perform such other related tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the legal department from time to time.

    EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

    • Member of the Philippine Bar (no prior work experience required), or Bachelor of Laws graduate with at least 1-year work experience as paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department

    • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

    • Ability to handle multiple tasks independently with minimum supervision and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment while continuing to provide highly responsive and diligent service/output

    • High level of integrity and strong work ethic
