  • Duties and Responsibilities:

    *Executes daily operation of microbiology laboratory.

    *Responsible for the overall Microbiological Program of the Manufacturing which includes scope, frequency, methods of sampling and testing.

    *Prepares on time microbiological report to summarize test results and coordinates to concerned department for necessary actions.

    *Responsible for providing the microbiological disposition of raw and packaging materials, in-process samples, finished products according to defined specification within the agreed lead time.

    *Maintains the Microbiology Laboratory to ensure continuous support to the operations and compliance to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and reviews its capacity based on current needs.

    *Revise/ update related quality system documents and process when necessary such as Microbiological Monitoring of Production Process/ Equipment, Microbiological Sampling Plan of Materials and Finished Products and Aseptic Sampling Procedure.

    *Participates in appropriate technical seminars, conferences, workshops to develop competency and familiarity with the latest development on the field of microbiology.

    *Perform preparation and sterilization of media, diluents and laboratory tools required for testing.

    *Conduct validation and sterility testing of media/ diluents according to the approved methods.

    *Conduct tests for indicator organisms (Total Plate Count or TPC, Yeasts and Molds and Coliforms) pathogens (E.Coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) on raw and packaging materials, in-process samples and finished products according to sampling plan and approved methods.

    *Conduct equipment and environmental monitoring (swabbing and air sampling) monitoring of factory equipment, facilities and personnel.

    *Conduct regular microbiological monitoring of canteen foods and utensils.

    *Perform regular potability test of process and drinking water to ensure compliance to standards.

    *Review and approve testing documentation of other analysts.

    *Enforce safety procedures and reports safety incidences

    *Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.


    *BSc degree in a scientific or technical field preferably in biological/life sciences e.i. Microbiology and allied courses.

    *Must have minimum of two years of direct microbiology lab experience in FDA-regulated pharmaceutical.
