  • Roles and Responsibilities

    The main responsibilities of the Procurement Officer are to handle vendor and purchasing activities with a focus on optimising a cost-efficient supply of products that meets quality and compliance standards.  

    The tasks of the Procurement Officer are to demand planning by preparing, reviewing, and executing routine reviews of the demand planning forecast; determine products that required purchase orders; handle purchase orders by raising purchase orders for products with vendors for the correct quantities, prices, and delivery timelines; provide purchase order management on regular review and dialogue with vendors; ensure orders are on track for delivery and dealing with any issues arising; perform logistics by coordinating and arranging logistics of shipments (sea or air) from China to Australia including optimising container loads and coordination of multiple purchase orders into containers; prepare purchase order QA release by coordinating with the quality control and inspections for purchase orders; and release orders where compliant for shipment or escalating non-compliance issues as appropriate.

    The Procurement Officer is expected to provide a procurement analysis by analysing orders, inventory levels, inbound, outbound freight costs, quality control costs, any other procurement related costs; provide vendor contract management by regular reviewing of vendors to ensure terms and conditions are up to date; provide vendor management by maintaining good vendor relations and deal with various vendor-related issues such as price issues, MOQ issues, etc. as appropriate; escalate if outside scope of role.

    The other tasks of the Procurement Officer are to perform vendor ethical sourcing management by following procedures to ensure vendors meet ethical sourcing requirements for the client's customers by booking factory audits with 3rd party companies, reviewing audit results and implement CAP (corrective action plans) with vendors, and ensuring Vendors achieve factory endorsement.

    The Procurement Officer is expected to handle new products by creating and setting it up on ERP system within control framework, perform product management by updating products when changes occur (e.g. packaging changes, price changes, lead times), and to do any other tasks as required.

    Required Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years' Procurement experience

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree or diploma in procurement or supply chain management
