VIQ Media (f/k/a ASC Services LLC) is a subsidiary of VIQ Solutions. VIQM publishes valuable news and information in a digital form, delivering it in real time to newswires, websites, databases and social media platforms as an integral part of digital media systems.

Formed in 1993 as FDCH, and later known as Morningside Partners and then ASC Services, VIQM has grown into a company with hundreds of employees and contractors dedicated to developing and publishing news for the electronic information marketplace.

Working with its partners, VIQM provides a proprietary body of Broadcast, Government, General Business, Financial and International news and information in an electronic text format for news-related, research, market-intelligence and industry-surveillance purposes.

We are currently testing for Audio Annotators for Australian Courts contract support.

The work will involve intense attention to detail in discerning what is being said, and ability to understand accented speech audio. Familiarity with Australian legal terms and the AU Court System is helpful.

The mission of this role is to provide a roadmap of the key events of a matter to aid the production of transcripts, by:

Listening to audio files to locate specific sections for transcription

Creating accurate and detailed logs identifying key events within a proceeding

Identifying various speakers throughout the proceedings

Providing essential direction in terms of commencement and adjournment times

Essential Selection Criteria:

Computer literacy

Accuracy and attention to detail of data entry while working under time pressures.

Ability to abide by detailed requirements of each request with a keen ear to alert production to important information within recorded audio by making clear and precise notes.

Ensure the on-time delivery of products by completing tasks within specified timelines

Demonstrate the ability to juggle multiple concurrent tasks and produce high volume work without sacrificing quality

Positive and cooperative attitude.

Desirable Criteria:

Efficiency - Able to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort

Persistence - Demonstrates tenacity and willingness to get to the bottom of a puzzling matter

Teamwork - Reaches out to peers and cooperates with management to establish an overall collaborative working relationship

Analytical Skills - Can draw insightful conclusions from data presented in daily tasks

Annotators are constantly encountering new, diverse, and interesting subject material and are an essential part of a just and efficient legal system and accurately record all manners of events (such as interviews and meetings). We work with confidential and often sensitive material, some of which can be confronting. We therefore require staff to be 18 years or older, and to abide by confidentiality rules.

Pay is per work hour, tired to minimum productivity (amount of audio reviewed each work hour) expectations.

Payments are made twice monthly via direct deposit, in USD$.
