JOB SUMMARY:

Performs and supports a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and reporting and compliance with government agencies. Supports month-end and year-end closing process.

Accountable for preparing the period (monthly and annual) budgetand comparative reports of actual versus budgeted figures.

Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Assists in the improvement of internal controls by identifying financial and accounting control gaps.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for

a. creating journal entriesand assembling supporting documentation;

b. tracking the contents of accounts;

c. account reconciliations;

d. creating the financial statementsand writing notes/related disclosures thereto.

Provides status of financial performance and position by collecting, interpreting, and preparing financial reports at month-end and year-end.

Prepares special and/or internal reports through data compilation and analyses.

Provides support onfinancial standards setting and in forecast process.

Assist with tax audits and tax returns.

Complies with regulatory requirements with regard to financial reports.

Adhere to standard accounting principles and company procedures.

Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

Researches accounting rules and regulations and makes recommendations regarding company policy.

Coordinates the provision of information to external and internal auditors for the annual and interim period audits.

Supervises work of Cost & Property Staff and Accounts Receivable Staff. Reviews item and service requisitions, disbursements, and cash liquidation.

Provide consultations to departments/unit concerning accounting issues and queries.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and/or participating in professional societies.

Clark Electric Distribution Corporation (Clark Electric or CEDC) was originally organized by Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation (MIESCOR) under a joint venture agreement (JVA) dated February 19, 1997.

Clark Electric is a registered private distribution utility with a franchise granted by CDC, to own, operate and maintain a power distribution system and to distribute power exclusively within its franchise area, which includes the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) and the sub-zone.

Clark Electric is 65%-owned by Manila Electric Company (MERALCO), a publicly listed company whose shares are listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange. J Ten Equities, Inc. (JTEN) owns 35% of the common stock of the company.

Clark Electric serves the investors and locators in the Clark Freeport Zone which are mainly multinational companies whose products and services cater to the requirements of the foreign market. Other customers include the hotels, restaurants and casinos that serve tourists and local visitors.

Currently, the supply of electricity to the Clark Freeport Zone comes from three (3) sources of power namely: a.) 100 MVA, 230kV-69kV T5 power transformer; b.) Mexico-Clark 69kV Line 1; c.) Mexico-Clark 69kV Line 2.
