  • 1. Performs overall supervision of all staff and departmental activities.

    2. Insures that established policies and procedures are followed.

    3. Checks for accuracy in the work of supportive personnel.

    4. Provides for adequate record keeping and billing of patient’s medication records, investigational drug records if any, outpatient billing, prescription files.

    5. Maintains professional competence.

    6. Insures that new personnel are trained properly in the policies and procedures both of the in-patient and ambulatory section.

    7. Coordinates the activities of all pharmacy areas with the available staff to make the best use of personnel and resources.

    8. Communicates with all pharmacy staff regarding new development in the Department and assist in employee evaluations.

    9. Manage the distribution of floor stock to the different units.

    10. Provides drug information as necessary to pharmacy, medical and nursing staff.

    11. Provides adequate drug control by monitoring proper drug handling.

    12. Participate in the activities of the Infection Control Committee, Patients Care Committee and Hospital Wage Management Committee.

    13. Serves as the secretary of the Therapeutic Committee.

    14. Monitor stock level of medicines periodically and accomplish purchase requisition or medicines and other supplies to be stocked in the hospital pharmacy.

    15. Responsible in checking and receiving of the deliveries from different drug suppliers. Maintains record or received deliveries.

    16. Checks stability conditions of drugs.

    17. Dispense drugs properly.

    18. Entering daily transactions into the computer system and into the kardex.

    19. Maintains record of monthly turnover of stocks and monitor the right quantity of medicines and supplies to be stocked in the hospital pharmacy.

    20. Provides monthly stock inventory, sales, and purchase report.

    21. Coordinates with procurement committee regarding on going contracts with different suppliers.

    22. Inspects periodically the medication areas on the nursing unit to insure as adequate supply of stock drugs and their proper storage and stability conditions.

    23. Records all filled-up prescriptions into designated record book such as prescription book, additional dangerous drug book, and dangerous drug record book, which will be kept for a period of two years and shall be open for inspection by proper authorities anytime of the day.

    24. Avail of continuous educational programs and training.


    Education : Graduate of BS Pharmacy. Must be Registered Pharmacist

    Experience/Training : Minimum of six (6) months related experience.

    Knowledge/Skills/Attitude : Computer Literate; Hardworking; matured; with strong moral & spiritual values; can relate well in all levels of the organization. Honest & Trustworthy.
