  • The Habitat for Humanity–Hilti Foundation partnership aims to construct 10,000 disaster resilient, low-cost Bamboo Cement Frame Houses for vulnerable informal settlers in Negros Occidental, Philippines during the next five years. The partnership aims to:
    • Provide innovative housing solutions and help in the development of sustainable communities with local government units, and
    • Promote the use of sustainable eco-friendly construction technologies to help address the effects of Climate Change.

    To support the Project Habitat for Humanity International is currently looking for a Land Banking and Site Development Manager who shall lead lead the land acquisition and development in behalf of Habitat Philippines for the Hilti project. He/she shall ensure the project’s sites are properly and successfully developed according to zoning ordinances, regulations and the project’s concepts, goals and outcomes. He/she shall work with local and national government agencies and other stakeholders to ensure land is timely acquired, developed and properly supported via adequate infrastructure and services.


    • Is the key liaison of Habitat Philippines in regards to land acquisition and development in accordance to the project’s:
    • Green,
    • Disaster resilient, and
    • Sustainable community concepts.

    • Researches, visits and evaluates potential private and government lands for the project, according to established project and Habitat guidelines and tools. Determines whether a potential land is project feasible.

    • Evaluates the land risks and needs as well as the needed physical and social infrastructure and services to make the community sustainable or self-reliant in coordination with the Program and Community Development Managers. Provide also solutions to discovered issues and infrastructure needs.

    • Presents project and land plans and programs to land partners such as local government, private land developers, communities, beneficiaries and other stakeholders as needed.

    • Develops and monitors the implementation of the site master plans with the respective LGUs and communities in accordance to the project’s:
    • Green,
    • Disaster resilient, and
    • Sustainable community concepts.

    • Regularly collaborates with the Program, Community Development and Construction Managers to ensure site development plans are aligned and support the other departmental needs and plans of the project.

    • Supports the project’s Resource Development team with donor calls and presentations as needed.

    • Provides all necessary land information and reports needed.

    • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned from time to time.


    Education / Training : Urban Planner, Property Developer

    Work Experience : At least 3 years work experience in land property management

    Special Skills / Knowledge : Familiarity with site development, land acquisition required; knowledge of local building requirements, as well as other governmental regulations required; knowledge of CAD, Autocad and Safety Management; Project Management skills

    Other Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English, ability to build business relations,

    Required Personal Characteristics: Able to work within unstable and difficult conditions; willingness to uphold the Christian principles of Habitat

    This is a project-based position.
