The In-House Instructor is responsible of providing/conducting trainings to achieve the company’s organizational purpose/goals specifically by assessing, planning and delivering training programs to improve the technical and intellectual skills of Service Personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepares annual training plans and programs for all Parts and Service team members. Conducts technical and non-technical training for Service and Parts Staff, Technicians and Service Advisors (TEAM and NTSA Training) which include in-house and floor training.

2. Ensures that all training is of a professional standard and that employees are able to perform to the standard required by the business and achieve workshop sales target.

3. Coordinates with TMP-CSO Service Training Section for all training requirements and activities.

4. Ensures employees of Service Department attend training programs to gain required skills and/or certifications.

5. Identifies and designs/develops appropriate training solutions/programs to cater to the immediate and long term requirements of Toyota Motor Philippines and to ensure proper levels of proficiency are maintained to raise productivity and efficiency. Monitors Technician, Service Advisor and Estimators composition to meet TMP’s standard mix of skill level.

6. Assesses training needs and skill requirements for Service Team Members. Prioritizes training requirements based on training needs assessment.

7. Monitors training effectiveness by gathering post training feedback from the participants to evaluate the training delivery and make suitable improvements in the quality of training.

8. Prepares the learning environment and resources including setting up equipment, ensuring the company training facilities and associated training resources are properly maintained, meeting best practice standards.

9. Safekeeps Technicians and Service Advisors training records (TMP and in-house).

10. Assists in building a winning team by training, coaching, evaluating and motivating Service Department employees.

11. Monitors Tool Room operations and ensure availability of all Special Service Tools (SST) for Full Model Change (FMC) model.

12. Ensures maintenance of tools, SSTs, manuals and technical library.

13. Monitors Express Maintenance Service (EMS) operations.

14. Conducts orientation for all Service team members to ensure awareness and compliance to the department’s Standard operating Procedures (SOPs), including, but not limited to Repair Order Supplementary Sheet (ROSS) and EMS.

15. Distributes/disseminate technical bulletins to concerned team members.

16. Assists management in hiring procedure for Technicians, Service Advisors and other Service personnel.

17. Provides assistance in workshop in solving technical problems and develops trouble shooting procedures or countermeasure for difficult technical problems.

18. Maintains up to date information database for all models.

19. Participates in 5S and Kaizen practices and activities.

20. Practices the 7 Core Values and aids the management in instilling the same to Team Members.

21. Perform other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The In-House Instructor must have the following knowledge, skills, abilities and personal attributes, among others:

a. Graduate of Engineering or technical course, preferably Mechanical Engineering;

b. At least two (2) years’ experience as In-House Instructor or similar jobs in the automotive industry; Open to those with working background as Lead Man

c. Demonstrates professional competence;

d. Observes deadlines and achieves results;

e. Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges;

f. Remains calm in stressful situations.

g. Uses time efficiently;

h. Excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills;

i. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

j. Ability to lead people successfully to achieve desired goals;

k. Ability to plan, implement and evaluate training systems;

l. Flexible; and

m. Patient.
