  • Job Summary:

    The Supply Chain and Inventory Control Specialist performs technical and administrative functions in support of order processing and monitoring, importation and shipping, and claims management. This position also assists in new products monitoring, supports the e-commerce team, and compiles marketplace data for use in competitive analysis and new product development.

    Job Description:

    • Process order sheets for foreign suppliers and purchase orders in SAP.

    • Review supplier contracts relative to approved order sheets, including items ordered, purchase costs, customized packaging requirements, special instructions, and numerical accuracy.

    • Prepare payment requisitions for foreign suppliers, agents, and courier/transport companies.

    • Monitor importations and liaise with third party service providers such as customs brokerage firms or courier companies for release of shipment.

    • Prepare preliminary receiving sheets and coordinate with warehouse for receipt of shipment.

    • Review received orders for completeness, accuracy and quality.

    • Liaise with foreign suppliers for any quality issues, discrepancies and/or missing components, and short shipments; track these issues until resolution is reached and all irregularities are addressed.

    • Coordinate logistics related to incoming and outgoing samples.

    • Process goods receipt, goods issuances and other inventory-related changes in SAP.

    • Maintain and update relevant files to support daily tasks in the department and cross-functionally in other departments as well.

    • Support all processes related to new product offerings or changes to existing products, such as creation/edit of item codes in SAP, inclusion in e-flyers and marketing materials, and fabrication of product mock-ups where required.

    • Provide all information requirements of the e-Commerce department to list products in online platforms.

    • Support product development efforts across all product categories.

    • Support after-sales service including warranty and repairs, and review service reports and billing invoices as required.

    • Maintain security of all confidential and proprietary information.

    • Other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field or equivalent experience

    • Minimum 1 year experience in similar supply chain and inventory management role

    • Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to consistently prioritize and manage multiple tasks required

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required

    • Demonstrated experience in improving efficiencies, reducing costs in previous positions an asset

    • Experience in importation and customs brokerage a plus

    • Outstanding communication skills including written and verbal required

    • Possess some knowledge in ERP systems a plus

    • Highly motivated and can work independently, detailed oriented, organized and efficient

    • Creative problem solver and self-starter, passionate about achieving results and getting the work done

    • Strong understanding of procurement concepts and methodologies an asset

    • Strong understanding of market environment, product and technologies in construction areas an asset

    • Ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities and work under pressure

    • Team player; ability to work well and be flexible with other departments
