• A Junior Designer is responsible for producing high quality project design deliverables in both FF&E and construction documents. He/She can work on any/all phases of development including PreDesign, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. Will report to the Project Manager on tasks and deliverables and will work directly with him/her to ensure the facilitation of a project’s completion; on-time, on/under-budget, and meets DDA’s quality standards. The JD will also respond to clients questions and concerns in a timely, informative manner. He/She will maintain excel spreadsheets and other documentation regarding budget, client purchases and marketing efforts. He/She will also assist in the success of marketing efforts, promotions and other programs.

    Major Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

    Prepare, develop, and edit drawings, models, images, and documents under the guidance of the Project Leader.

    Conduct potential studies and research on site conditions and characteristics.

    Further develop design solutions by applying a keen understanding of the project.

    Monitor construction work in progress to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

    Contribute and assist as required by Senior Managers or Directors.

    Skills and Personal Qualities

    A Junior designer must have:

    creativity and imagination

    an eye for design, including color, and good 3D awareness

    the ability to visualize concepts and explain them to others

    good drawing and IT skills

    good organizational skills, to ensure each project is completed on time and within budget

    awareness of technical building issues, and the range of relevant products and materials

    strong communication and negotiation skills



    It is important to be interested in:

    changing trends in design

    Knowledge on different materials available in the market

    the processes involved in interior design, architecture and construction.


    Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design.

    Demonstrate good design understanding. (e.g. design portfolio)

    Demonstrate expertise in AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe Creative Suite.

    Knowledge of 3D software and rendering engines.

    Self motivated and able to demonstrate initiative and proactive approach to daily tasks and in response to direction or instruction.

    Ability to cope with conflicting demands, prioritize duties and deliver work under pressure and tight deadlines.
