PRIMARY FUNCTION:

· Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and timelines.

· Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales

· Manage and develop direct reporting staff.

· Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in cooperation with the executive team

· Key Account Management of identified top customers.

· Liaise with other departmental managers and ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements.

· Liaise and maintain relationship with the company network.

· Ensure that the company website and email are maximized to benefit the logistics operation.

SCOPE OF DUTIES:

1) Identify market potentials and formulate a sustainable business development plan.

2) Prepare the annual budget for logistics operations.

3) Manage the Logistics Department Heads – IFF, Domestic Freight (DF), Sales.

4) Maximize revenue potentials per job.

5) Validate the viability of each logistics product.

6) Ensure proper coordination between and among different departments in order to deliver satisfactory service.

7) Negotiate, renew, review contracts as required to enable fair & effective trading, operations and customer/supplier relations.

8) Prepare for Regional Meetings, Agents’ Meetings or any overseas trips that may require the attendance of the logistics manager.

9) Any other duties or special projects that may be assigned by the Managing Director from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· At least 7 year experience in international airfreight and/or sea freight industry

· Business development orientation is required.

· Preferably with existing client portfolio

· Excellent and updated knowledge of the local market

· Good people skills; ability to motivate and manage subordinates.
