PRIMARY FUNCTION:

· Support Managing Director to oversee the Int’l Freight Forwarding (IFF) Operations and Customs Brokers (CB) sections

· Monitor the profitability of the IFF and its contribution to the company budget.

· Contract management for the key customers, including Service Level Agreement monitoring.

SCOPE OF DUTIES:

1. Manage team productivity and develop initiatives to further improve operational efficiency.

2. Responsible for planning and controlling operational activities and resources.

3. Ensure the performance of IFF & Customs Brokers team are aligned with customers’ requirements.

4. Ensure that operational expenses related to customs clearance are within tariff to maximize profit.

5. Formulate a viable business process for identified logistics products/services.

6. Manage day to day operations and ensure that processing and releasing of cargo from BoC as well as delivery to the clients is within the agreed Key Performance Indicators.

7. Manage and resolve customer queries on customs related issues as well as concerns with shipping lines and forwarders.

8. Implement new plans and initiatives and provide leadership with the team to exceed customer expectations.

9. Maintain effective working relationship with pertinent government agencies and licensing authorities (Bureau of Customs; Philippine Shippers Bureau; Marina; Civil Aeronautics Board; etc)

Ensure that the company licenses and permits are valid and comply with regulatory and reportorial requirements relevant government agencies.

Monitor and control job costs and run cost analysis in the company’s Freight app to check profitability.

Ensure that jobs are closed in company’s Freight app before the monthly cut-off.

Maintaining current knowledge of trend as well as updates on statutory requirements, department orders from Bureau of Customs and other government agencies,

Identify opportunities to improve service operational productivity and relationship with clients.

Ensure business is conducted in accordance with the Group Company Policies on Compliance and Ethics.

Custodian of controlled shipping documents, such as but not limited to House Bill of Lading; Master Airway Bill; Delivery Orders, waybills

Drive cross-training opportunities within the departments to motivate staff.

18. Any other duties, responsibilities or special project that may be assigned by the Managing Director.

· External customers - Importer and Exporter

· The company’s offices and authorized Agents worldwide & affiliates.

· Carriers, Forwarders and Consolidators

· Truckers and other Suppliers

· Warehouse Personnel

· Bureau of Customs

· Department of Finance and other government agencies

· Heads of Departments within the company

HSSE RESPONSIBILITIES:

It is your responsibility to comply with the Health, Safety. Security and Environment (HSSE) Policy and the company’s HSSE Manual procedures respecting industrial and personal safety and environmental precautions, always giving consideration to the safety of yourself and others. You have the responsibility and authority to stop work and report when an unsafe condition or action results in an undesirable HSSE event.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be a licensed Customs Broker

· At least 3 years of experience in similar role

· Knowledge in Customs Rules and Regulations

· Excellent problem-solving abilities and updated knowledge of the local market

· Outstanding people skills

· Excellent communication skills both oral and written
