  • The Payroll Clerk is accountable for collecting timekeeping information, incorporating a variety of deductions into a periodic payroll, and issuing pay and pay-related information to team members. He/She is also responsible to ensure that payroll is prepared accurately and on time and that all payroll statutory requirements are complied with.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Gather information on hours worked for each team member.

    • Verify timekeeping records and consult team members about any discrepancies.

    • Perform Sprout Management and records of team members and administration tasks.

    • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and updating payroll records.

    • Entering employee information and payroll data into the system.

    • Prepare periodic payroll and corresponding payroll reports and entries.

    • Prepares final pay computation and related documents for separated employees.

    • Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer system.

    • Process taxes and payment of employee benefits. Ensure that payroll taxes, other mandatory contributions (SSS, PHIC, HDMF) and loan balances are deducted and remitted accurately and on time.

    • Monitor loan balances, leave credits and process last pay of separated employees.

    • Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks.

    • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from team members.

    • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies.

    • Perform other related payroll and accounting tasks as maybe asssigned from time to time.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • 1 – 2 years experience as a payroll clerk with solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices is an advantage.

    • Very good knowledge of labor legislation and tax regulations of the field.

    • Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software preferably Payroll Software

    • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality

    • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can work independently

    • College diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in business, accounting or relevant field
