  • Job Summary

    The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the engineering team who ensure that all capital projects delivered are technically fit for purpose and meet the statutory requirements

    Job Description

    Plan how and when the work will be performed, including preparatory work that must be completed before the building starts.

    Set a specific schedule with a number of deadlines for the various projects that must be completed

    Ensure of all projects are technically fit for purpose and meet the statutory requirements

    Defines the engineering organization charts, staffing and personnel roles with engineering discipline department

    Ensures the technical part of the contract review

    Participates to the induction of the engineering team to contract/project requirements;

    Provides instructions to the engineering team through project engineering instructions and procedures

    Ensures effective interdisciplinary coordination in particular through weekly meeting

    Take the necessary technical decisions in case of unresolved conflicts between disciplines.

    Ensures effective technical coordination with Client's representatives and as such participates to good communication with Client

    Supervises the initiation and maintenance of project files

    Contributes to Project reporting for the engineering part (activities, quantities, budget and areas of concern)

    Prepare progress reports including issues that arose and planned adjustments to be made

    Resolve disputes quickly and informally – getting the proper technical input if necessary – and keep the job moving.

    Manage risks, or limit the amount of the problems that need to be resolved.

    Participates to contract management by initiating, collecting and consolidating the variation requests and change orders

    Ensure that the project complies with the National Building Code and other legal and regulatory requirements.

    Prepare daily list of tasks and delegate responsibilities

    Job Qualification

    Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or any related course

    Strictly licensed/PRC Board Passer

    At-least 6-7 years' experience in general construction, structural or equivalent

    Capable of supervisory capacity for planning, organizing, communicating and personnel management skills
