1. Correct, effective and safe operation of radiotherapy machines such as the linear accelerator and brachytherapy unit
2. Correct, effective and safe operation of diagnostic radiologic equipment such as a CT scan and mobile x-ray machine
3. Correct and safe handling of all equipment used in radiotherapy
4. Assist the medical physicist and radiation oncologist in radiotherapy planning
5. Assist the radiation oncologist(s) and radiation oncology medical physicist(s) in ensuring that the treatment portal or EPID (electronic portal imaging device ) or location is accurate and that all instructions and information regarding administration of prescribed dose are clearly recorded and understood by all responsible personnel
6. Prepare, maintain and document records of quality control tests conducted on the linear accelerator and brachytherapy machines
7. Assist the medical physicist in the calibration, quality control and maintenance of the linear accelerator and brachytherapy machines including the support diagnostic equipment such as the CT simulator
8. Carry out routine daily Quality Assurance checks on the linear accelerator and brachytherapy machines
9. Creation and maintenance of procedural patient registries
10. Implementation of the hospital’s radiation safety program
11. Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Registered Radiologic Technologist
2. Experience as a Radiation Therapy Technologist (preferred but not required)
3. With CMR Training (preferred but not required)
4. Newly licensed Radiologic Technologist is encouraged to apply.
5. Physically fit, able to carry heavy equipment
