Senior Payroll Officer

Job Description

Payroll:

• Perform the payroll for all employees across the group.

• Process superannuation and KiwiSaver payments.

• Process payroll tax payments.

• Complete associated month end and year end processing.

• Make inquiries with the ATO or IRD on a needs basis to ensure proper processing of payroll and payroll related functions.

• Update the Company’s leave/travel planner when employee requests for annual leave are approved.

Month End/General Ledger:

• Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and month end processes, including but not limited to bank and general ledger reconciliations.

• Follow up the investigation and corrective action arising from reconciliations.

Accounts Payable/Receivable:

• Assist with the Group’s account payable function.

• Ensure proper coding of expenditure to ledger and departments.

Admin Functions:

• Provide administrative support to the Corporate and Financial department.

• Maintain relevant document management and filing systems.

Collaboration with Offshore Services

• Confirm to offshore team members if they have received adequate training and can perform tasks to the required standards before issuing tasks

• Conduct appropriate quality checks of the offshore team member’s work to ensure their work meets the required standards.

• Provide timely communication to the offshore team members of any changes to their scope of work or changes to procedures relevant to them.

• Monitor and escalate quality, productivity, performance, or other issues of offshore team members.

General

• Attend and constructively participate in team and company meetings.

• Adhere to company policy including People and Culture and HSEQ policies and procedures.

• Provide positive and constructive feedback to others which supports the employee workforce’s adherence to company’s values

• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Administration or any related field

• At least 5 years of experience in Payroll Processing Role

• Knowledge of New Zealand and Australian tax regulations, superannuation, and KiwiSaver

• Experience using Sage Meridian payroll software and Quickbooks accounting software

• Experience as a Customer Service Representative

• Proficiency in Microsoft Sharepoint, Outlook, Teams, and Excel
