JOB SUMMARY



Software Engineer II forms the backbone of the software development organization. This position requires excellent problem solving and analytical skills in addition to a high level of competency in object oriented design and programming. Produces commercial software components/services/solutions, execute moderate complexity software engineering assignments when provided high level business requirements and technical design guidelines from an architect or senior engineer with minimal supervision

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret business requirements and technical specification documents. Write application software code according to the business requirements and technical specifications

Investigate, analyze and document reported software defects, Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified software defects

Create, document and implement unit tests

Create and maintain technical documentation using appropriate templates

Collaborating with other departments to better define requirements and implementation of software features

ANALYSIS

Interpret business requirements and technical specification documents

Ability to breakdown requirements into stories and provide estimates, performs code reviews, raises technical risk and creates technical documentation.

INNOVATION

A Software Engineer II should provide creative solutions to help improve the outcomes for pharmacy business unit. This includes new methods for business features and creative solutions to business requirements. In addition, learning and implementing new technology to advance the project. Recommend and implement process improvements.

JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING

This job requires that the Software Engineer II interpret customer, PO and design requirements to create solutions that meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

Skilled in Java technologies; Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate; Java Swing, Webservices, Spring boot, Oracle RDBMS and SQL syntax, React or Angular, GitLab, Git, Jira, Jenkins, Octopus, Ansible

Extensive experience with Object Oriented Design Patterns and their application in enterprise software applications

Experience with Azure is a plus

Extensive experience developing web services

Must have a basic aptitude for programming and analytical thinking

Must have strong communication and inter-personal skills

Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specifications

Ability to write software code according to published standards and industry best practices

Demonstrated ability to function in a highly agile team environment

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field

At least five (5) years of professional experience developing software with the Java programming language
