We are looking for an experienced technical manager capable of holding their own with our in-house technical team to help keep delivery on track.

This is a full WFH set-up with 1x a quarter reporting to BGC office (World Plaza) for meetings/events.

Ideally from a software development background with a proven track record of delivery (preferably in C# and/or Python), you’ll need to have excellent English language skills and be comfortable working with an international team of software developers and infrastructure engineers at high levels of seniority.

You’ll have extensive experience with Jira and ticket-based workflows and understand the importance of documentation.

You’ll also have solid skills in statistics and mathematics, and ideally a solid grasp of software architecture, IT operations, and best practices.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

Specifying projects and tasks. This will involve business analysis, defining success criteria, and feeding these into internal QA processes

Writing and following up on JIRA tickets – tracking progress, quantification of what's happening with JIRA tickets, providing warnings about delays, blockers, etc., and taking steps to help resolve issues when required

Managing roadmaps and epics and coordinating team effort

Prioritizing tasks and keeping projects on track by organizing/structuring the task backlog

Evaluation and improvement of business processes

Adhere to Project Management processes for quality and business growth

Managing regular business activities by staying on top of regular, recurring tasks, ensuring paperwork is dealt with promptly, and by improving and maintaining documentation where necessary

Excellent Jira skills

Excellent English language skills

Hands-on management experience can substitute for a degree in some cases

Basic to good knowledge and experience of software engineering (ideally C# and Python)

Any level of knowledge of open-source tools, AWS, Networking, firewalls, Docker, Linux, Windows

Basic to good knowledge of statistics and mathematics

Knowledge of best software engineering practices and IT operations

Any level of knowledge with regard to software architecture

BSc (or higher) in Financial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar

Minimum 3 years of hands-on management experience

Writing and maintaining documentation Process-oriented workflows

Priority points:

Management experience (team leader, AGILE methods)

Statistical principles (basic 4 moments, distributional analysis)

Programming principles (C#, Python, SQL, NoSQL, etc.)

Financial markets (derivatives, FX, equities, market making, etc.)

Networking principles (VPNs, routing, firewalls, tracing)

WFH: candidate will RDP into cloud-based workstations, from the personal machine.

BGC office: candidate will have access to the company's thin terminals to work on the company's cloud-based workstations.
