Position Objective

Key Responsibilities:

As a WordPress Developer, you should have a deep understanding of modern web development, with an emphasis on PHP and JavaScript in a WordPress context.

A comprehensive understanding of the components and technologies related to WordPress is crucial to this role. While previous experience with WordPress (and Gutenberg) is not essential, it is highly recommended, and you will be expected to rapidly gain this in order to work effectively on project teams. This includes WordPress internals, including the bootstrap process, global state, and the majority of WordPress components.

You will work on existing websites and help develop solutions for new websites, develop new websites from high fidelity designs, and come up with solutions to complex data driven problems. You’ll also need to be able to communicate with other developers and help debug problems.

You should be familiar with the tools required for development projects. This includes a good understanding of Git, local development environments, following coding standards and general computer maintenance and security. You should be willing to adapt to the established processes in STAFFLINK.

Main accountabilities of these roles include:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience developing with WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, etc.

• Designing and implementing new features and functionality

• Developing pixel perfect templates from high fidelity Figma mockups, and extrapolating new components from the designs

• Creating solutions for importing or exporting data via API’s and solving complex programming problems

Key skills and competencies:

• An in depth understanding of core WordPress scripts & languages including PHP, JavaScript, CSS/SCSS, HTML

• Strong understanding of package/dependency management, templating engines etc, specifically Composer, NPM, Blade, SASS, etc.

• Good understanding and experience with Git and working across a team of developers on a single project

• Experience with development plugins like Custom Post Types, Advanced Custom Fields, etc.

• Confident using the command line, or modifying nginx, php, or server level settings and configurations

• An understanding of how domain names work, how to update DNS records, migrate WordPress websites, renew and install SSL certificates

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Experience using CSS frameworks like Bootstrap, Tailwind, or any others

Nice to haves, or want to learn about:

• Building Gutenberg blocks using React

• Experience with boilerplate templates like Sage or UnderStrap/Underscores

• An interest in automating deployment pipelines

• AWS experience, specifically EC2, S3, Route 53, RDS, etc

• An interest in modern technologies like Node, Next.JS, Vercel, etc

Salary: Php 50,000.00 / Month
